The 3nd Annual Crime Solvers 5k: A Race Against Crime sponsored by Investigation Discovery to benefit Fairfax County Crime Solvers will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 8:00 AM at the Fairfax County Government Center in Fairfax, VA. The course is USATF certified.
Packet pickup will take place at Road Runner Sports in Falls Church on Friday, July 31 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at the race site on race day.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 overall M&F and 3 deep in the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over. There will be a free kid’s fun run following the 5k at 8:45 AM.
There will have a Co-Ed Team Competition. The cumulative times of the top 3 finishers will determine the team champion (minimum 1 male, 1 female per team). There is no minimum to the number of runners on a team. Create or add yourself to your Co-ed Team during Registration.
Crime Solvers 5k is home to the Annual Public Safety Challenge between the Fire Dept, the Sheriff’s Dept, & the Police Dept. The Public Safety Challenge has two ways to win; The Team with the most participants will win the Public Safety Challenge Trophy, and the Team with the top 4 scorers (min 1 male, 1 female per team) wins awards for the top 4 scorers, as well as bragging rights as the fastest Public Safety Challenge Team. Choose your appropriate Team affiliation under the Public Safety Challenge when you register.
Early Bird registration for the 5k will be $25 through July 3, and then $30 until online registration closes on Wednesday, July 29 at 11:59 PM. On-site registration will be $35 and will open at packet pickup on Friday, July 31 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Road Runner Sports or at the race site on Saturday, August 1 from 6:30 AM until 7:45 AM.
This will be an untimed and unscored event with ribbons awarded to all finishers.
