Richmond Road Runners Club offers the 16th annual running of this challenging, always hot, 5K race series. Test yourself on the same fast course on one, two or all three of these Monday evening races. On the last evening, there will be a free kids run for ages 7 and under that will begin at the bus loop (MUCH shorter than last year).
Sign up for ALL THREE EVENTS by June 12th and COMPLETE ALL THREE EVENTS to be eligible to receive the finisher medal. Register for all three events by July 3rd and receive an additional $5.00 multi-event discount!
Participants under the age of 8 are NOT permitted to participate in the 5K events. All 5K participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or authorized guardian in order to participate.
Richmond Road Runners Club
Richmond Road Runners Club’s mission is to support running and healthy lifestyles in the Richmond Region. We do this by sponsoring races in our area, helping other organizations put on races, coaching training teams, supporting kids’ running programs, supporting a variety of group runs and awarding academic scholarships to college-bound runner athletes.
RRRC is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that sponsors nearly 20 races each year with distances ranging from 3 miles to half marathon. Club members are runners or those looking to become runners, who are of all paces, ages and shapes. With approximately 2,000 members, RRRC is one of the largest running clubs in the United States.
Check out our website.
Become a member. An annual RRRC membership is $15 for individuals, $20 for families and $5 for students. Benefits include discounts on RRRC race registrations!
Limited parking is available at the school. Parking is available on the streets, but please, DO NOT park on the grassy shoulders. Please be respectful of the neighborhood!
The course, a mostly flat, fast loop on Wyndham neighborhood streets, challenges you with 3 cul-de-sacs early in the race.
The race is run on open roads monitored by course marshals and with traffic controlled by Henrico County Police. Follow their direction and watch for car/truck traffic.
No dogs, no strollers and no children under the age of 8 years old are allowed on the course. Please do not warm up or cool down in the middle of the streets. Additionally, please do not park on the shoulder of any roads.

Participants must be a minimum of 8 years of age in order to run the 5K.
All entry fees and processing fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, no exceptions. Please note, while we strive to keep our events as inexpensive as possible, rising costs of the events require us to increase the rates. It’s still the best deal in town!
If you register to participate in more than one of the Cul-de-sac events, you must reuse the bib that was assigned to you from the previous 2017 Cul-de-sac event. A replacement fee of $5 cash will be required in order to supply you with another bib.
The three 5K races will be chip-timed by The Richmond Road Runners Club and Mettle Events. Times will be posted on this website (Results menu tab), on the Mettle Events website, and on the RRRC website.
Water stops are at miles 1.0ish and 2.5ish on the course. Skratch Labs hydration beverage, water and snacks will be provided after each race. Cold towels will be provided after the 2nd water stop at each event.
Pizza will be served after the last race of the series.
THERE IS A CHANGE FOR 2017. There will be no awards presentation after the 1st and 2nd 5K races.
Finisher medals (for those qualified to receive them) and all other awards will be presented after the 3rd race on July 24th.
The fastest three male and female runners and the fastest male and female master (40 and older) runners of each 5K race will be recognized on July 24th.
In addition, THERE WILL BE A SERIES COMPETITION. All runners will receive points based on their age-group place in each race. The following age groups will be used: 8 – 15; 15 – 24; 25 – 34; 35 – 44; 45 – 54; and 55+. Age group assignment will be based on the runner’s age on July 10th. Awards will be given on July 24th to the top three male runners and top three female runners (who completed all three races) in each of the six age groups based on highest cumulative point totals. Details of the scoring scheme will be provided before the first race.
RRRC members participating in the Grand Prix competition will continue to receive points for participation and for placing in their 5-year age-group for each 5K race.
