Daniel Barden Highland Mudfest 5 Mile & 5k

This mud run event was started in memory of Daniel Barden . . .

Daniel Barden, 7, was one of the first graders killed in the Sandy Hook, CT tragedy in December 2012. A niece of organizers of this event was inside the Sandy Hook Elementary School that day. She escaped physically unharmed. Her dear friend and next-door neighbor, Daniel, did not.

Daniel was a kind, gentle child who was polite to everyone and had a zest for life. He loved the outdoors, sports and getting muddy!

5 MILE TIMED Run- ages 13 and up starts at 9 AM with ONE heat only. The 5k UNTIMED heats every 15 minutes beginning at 10 AM for ages 11 & up. Kids Fun Run ages 5-11 yrs has 3 heats 11, 11:15 or 11:30
