About the event
THIS IS A CUPLESS RACE! THERE WILL BE NO CUPS AT ANY AID STATIONS. YOU WILL RECEIVE REUSABLE CUP IN YOUR RACE PACKET.
New this year:
This will be completely cupless race. You will receive collapsible cup in your packet. Please carry it with you as well as your water bottle. There will be absolutely no cups at aid stations ( you will need to use your cup if you want to drink Coke or Ginger Ale, or grab some pretzels to go). If you ran Broken Toe 50K, you are already familiar with cupless races.
Dawg Gone Long 50 mile course change: to make DGLR50 an even 50-mile event (yes, the course was short before), we are adding distance on FIRST loop only. Shortly after turning onto Clarksville Rd will turn right and will follow the service road all the way to the bottom of the dam. Then you will turn around and go back up returning to Clarksville Rd. If you ran the race in 2016, this is the same section we ran that year at the start of the race. This change is for 50-milers only. 50K runners will not run the dam part. During our preview runs we will run the dam part to help you get familiar with the course.
50 milers will start at 6:30 am, new cutoff to start 3rd loop will be 2:40 pm. Nobody will be allowed to start the loop after that time! It gives you 13 hours to complete the course.
NEW: 50K will start at 7:30 am this year and will run the same course as in 2017. No dam road. Yes, 50K is longer already and we don't want to make it a 60K :)
We are still enforcing the 10-year old rule of no switching distances after the race starts! Packet pick up is the last time to drop down or upgrade distance.
Preview runs will start in spring, hope you can join us.
If you need volunteer credit for ORRRC 200K series, we will be doing trail work in May and June. Please join us and help us make the trail better for you!
And last but not least; by popular demand we will have shirts this year!
Looking forward to seeing you all in June!

COURSE: Some of the best single-track around Caesar Creek lake south of SR 73. The largest hill is about 80′, however, the elevation changes are substantial due to almost constant rollers. Approx 2900′ of “rolling” per loop. 3 Loops for the 50 Milers and 2 for the 50k.
We will have 2 “manned” aid stations at the start/finish and at the top the 50 Springs exit (Mile ~9). Any drop bags will be taken to the 50 Spring Aid station. These two aid stations will have Tailwind, Water, Peanut-butter and Jelly sandwiches, pretzel rods, fresh fruit, and an assortment of other products. There will be no cups at those aid stations. Carry your reusable cup and water bottle.
The other “unmanned” stations (we will visit them every 30 minutes or so) will have water. There will be no cups at those aid stations!
If you need to drop, just stop at the manned aid station and we will get you back to the start.
