Superheroes vs. Villains 5K Fun Run and 1 Mile Walk

Zombie 5k

Join us for the first annual ZOMBIE 5K on Friday, August 14th at 8:15pm at the Defiance County Hot Air Balloon Festival!

This zombie-filled 5K run starts at the airport and goes to Oxbow Lake and back. You will be running from virus-spreading, blood hungry zombies! You will have two “life flags” and your goal is to get through the entire run with at least one flag to “SURVIVE”! Zombies will not physically contact any runner except when trying to pull off a “life flag”. Zombies are not allowed to pull of more than one flag at a time. This is a trail run, so dress appropriately.

Check-In begins at 7:30pm and the race starts at 8:15pm. All ZOMBIE 5K attendees and volunteers will receive free admission to the festival on Friday, August 14th.

 There will be a restroom available before the race and at the turn-around. There will be water at the turn around as well as the end of the race.

We are looking for Zombie volunteers! Zombies must come in full make-up. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in being a zombie!

Pre-registration cost (until July 24th):

Adults (Ages 18 & older) – $30 per person (includes T-shirt, life flags & take-away for “survivors”)
Children (Ages 10-17) – $20 per person (includes T-shirt, life flags & take-away for “survivors”)

Registration after July 24th:

Same cost as above but no guaranteed T-shirt.

Glow Walk

Join us for the second annual 1 mile family fun Glow Walk on Friday, August 14th at 8:45pm at the Defiance County Hot Air Balloon Festival!

Join us as we walk off our ice cream and snow cones on a 1 mile fun trek around the airport runway. Come dressed up in your brightest neons to get some fun pictures in front of the black lights! Before the walk. enjoy the festival and watch the hot air balloons launch around 7:00pm (weather permitting) and hang out at the marketplace or kids area!

Check-In begins at 7:30pm and the walk starts at 8:45pm. All Glow Walk participants will receive free admission to the festival on Friday, August 14th.

Wear your brightest colors, glow paint, and neon socks! One lucky person will win the “glow contest”!

Children (Ages 11 – 17) – $10 per person (includes T-shirt and glow necklace)
Children (Ages 10 & Under) – Free to walk or be pushed in stroller, no T-shirt* You can pre-order a t-shirt for $8.
Children (Ages 10 & Under) T-Shirt Only – $8 – ONLY for children ages 10 & under
