JOIN THE MOVEMENT. IT’S TIME TO GET - AND STAY - HEALTHY FOR GOOD.

The American Heart Association is dedicated to creating healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.  To that end, DeKalb Regional Medical Center helping organize a free community event and Heart Walk with local community businesses and leaders. In addition to raising vital funds for heart disease and stroke research and education, the Heart Walk engages the community to promote healthy lifestyles for children and adults.

Dr. Wael Halaseh, Interventional Cardiologist at DeKalb Regional Medical Center, knows firsthand the success patients can have when given education regarding cardiac health and warning signs.  He has a group of patients he likes to call his “10%ers” that, with cardiac intervention and life style change, not only survived but have dramatically improved their quality of life.  It is his desire that everyone in our community receive education so that they, too, can take the first step in improving their health.
