5k

The 5k starts off in Lone Peak Park and right away you cross 2 beautiful bridges. You then take the loop trail offering a great view of the canyon below and above you. You finish your run on a fantastic wood chipped trail that feels great to run on.

3.1 miles and +220 ft elevation total

87% Trail, 13% Paved

*There will be Trail Marshals positioned at major intersections to prevent you from getting lost or cutting!

No cutoff time, we want everyone finishing even if it means walking.

Youth Registration
Same as normal registration your child will receive a medal and shirt. We honestly will lose money with offering registrations this cheap but we know it can be expensive to sign up the whole family. My wife is a Kindergarten teacher who loves kids and I am a Personal Trainer who strongly believes in children staying active due to childhood obesity drastically increasing. Tell those kids to step away from the video games and go running! We would love to see our 5ks filled with families.

Half Marathon

The Half Marathon starts off with a loop around Lone Peak Park and drops into Dimple Dell onto a fantastic wood chipped trail that feels great to run on. You follow this trail over a bridge in a really scenic area. Eventually you go underneath another bridge in another area that usually has great fall colors this time of year. Make your way through a nice part of the canyon which includes our favorite bridge and under an awesome tunnel which pops you out at the Wrangler Aid Station.

After you leave the station you will drop down into the canyon running along a trail overlooking the canyon floor. You will have great views of the beautiful Fall colors here. You start the biggest climb of the race and top out to a beautiful vista at Granite Park. You then make your way through the field and park to Granite Park Aid Station.

You leave on the Rim Trail offering great views of the canyon and mountains. Follow this wonderful wood chipped trail all the way to your next aid station. After arriving at the Wrangler Aid Station again it is a straight shot back to Lone Peak Park where you will finish!

This course takes place on a lot of wood chipped trails making this a very good race for runners looking at trying their first trail race as well as experienced trail runners looking to go fast!

About

Happy Trails Running started in 2019 and hosts a new series of races focusing on beautiful scenery and amazing courses. We believe in promoting and using local businesses for support and supplies. Our finisher medals are custom made right here in the USA. We want to make races that are affordable and provide a great experience for runners of all skill levels.

We have no time limits on our races with the marathon being the exception. All of our races are much smaller with limited amounts of runners so we do not overwhelm the trails. Quality over quantity!

These races feature our favorite trails along the beautiful Wasatch Mountains with a distance and difficulty level for everyone. Whether you are doing your first 5k, half marathon, marathon, or running as a team, we hope you will enjoy these awesome races!
