Discover Pink Walk

Welcome to Northwest Family Services' 14th Annual Discover Pink Walk & 5K Fun Run! This year, we will be holding the traditional Discover Pink Walk as usual, but also this year for the first time we will be holding a 5K Fun Run. There's no competition and no prizes, just wonderful people getting together to take a stand against breast cancer. Whether you've been running for your whole life or you're hoping to complete your first 5K, you are welcome at Discover Pink! 

Participants can register for the Walk or the Run as individuals or they can form a Team. Registration fee is $15 for individuals or $12 for each team member. Each person must register and a minimum of 5 adults is required for the $12 team rate. Once the 5th team member registers, every previous registrant on that team will receive a $3 refund for the difference in registration costs. Last year our biggest team had 30 people. (Will we be able to break that record this year?)

Discover Pink T-shirts will be raglan 3/4 length sleeve baseball Ts, are not included in the registration fee and may be ordered separately for just $15. T-shirt orders must be received by September 4, 2018. Limited T-shirt sales will also be available on the day of the Walk. There will be a special gift to honor and recognize each breast cancer survivor who participates.

Children under 12 years of age can walk for free, but they must still register for the event and a parent/guardian must sign their waiver. Well-mannered leashed pets are welcome (and are also free). "Day of Walk" entries will be available for $25 at 8:30 am on the day of the event. 

Discover Pink Walk & Fun Run raises awareness and funds for the Women's Health Program of Marion and Polk Counties. Funds raised will provide free mammograms, health education, and other services to underserved women in the local area. You are invited to collect pledges for your Walk/Run and fund-raise for this important cause. Donations are always welcome. Just $75 raised provides one free mammogram! 

Make sure to also join us for the pre- and post-Walk festivities! We will have a Vendor Fair with local merchants and organizations, a group stretch for people of all flexibilities, and a costume contest for Best Costume and Most Pink. Discover Pink is fun for all ages!
