Dr. Dennis Branch 5K Run/Walk

This 5K run will benefit the Tennessee Picnic in honor of the late Dr. Dennis Branch who was a prominent African American Physician in Newport Tn. for nearly 50 years. Dr. Branch became nationally known as a guest of honor in Hollywood on the Ralph Edwards Television Show "This is Your Life". in 1958. Dr. Branch passed in 1964 leaving his legacy as a prominent Physician.He was 77 years old. This 5K  Run/Walk will take place on Saturday August 12th, 8:00 a.m. at the Newport City Park entrance and proceeds onto the streets of Rankin Rd, runners and walkers will make a turn around on Rankin Road ending back into the park for a total of 3.1 miles. (Signs will mark the route). There will also be Registration at the Park until 7:30 a.m. This is an event for all ages, so bring the whole family! We look forward to seeing you there!
