Duryea at Dusk 5k

Place: Community Park, Stephenson Street

Type of Event: 5k Run and 1 mile Fun Walk

Time: This 'Twilight' race begins at 7PM.  Walkers will begin immediately after the runners take off.

Price: $20 pre-registration, $25 day of registration.  Price includes a t-shirt for all pre-registered participants of both the run and the walk. Runners will receive a race bib and timing chip. Timing services provided by Kirby's Race Timing.

Registration: Participants will be able to come at a scheduled time the evening of May 31st, 2019 to pick up their shirts & bibs.  Packet pick-up and day of registration is also available from 5-6:30PM on race day. Shirts are not guaranteed for day of registrants but will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Awards: An overall award will be given to the 1st place winner of the 5k race. Medals will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in each of the following age groups:

12 & Under
13-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60 & Over
*The awards ceremony will be held in the park 30 minutes following the completion of the race.

Additional Info: In addition to the run and walk, there is a festival held inside Community Park from 5PM-9PM.  This festival will feature food, vendors, raffle baskets, Manning's Ice Cream truck, music and more.  All proceeds raised at this event will benefit the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute in Scranton, PA. The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute was organized in 1991 by Northeastern Pennsylvania hospitals and oncology practices that recognized the value of collaboration and coordination for community cancer control efforts.  The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute is a local, non-profit organization that is working to ease the burden of cancer in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  The three main program areas that they focus on are: community and patient services, hospital and practice support services, and cancer surveillance.

Duryea at Dusk is a non-profit, 501c(3) organization that is proud to work with the Borough of Duryea and local businesses in order to raise funds for this worthy cause.  Together, we can let the sun set on cancer.
