11th annual Earl Scruggs Center Rhythm & Roots Race
Virtually Run, Bike, Stroll, Walk or walk your dog and join us for the biggest year yet!
We are pleased that we are able to keep our tradition of our Rhythm & Roots Run moving forward. It will, however, just look a little different this year. This year we will be hosting a VIRTUAL 5k or 10K Run/Walk & 10-mile or 20-mile Bike Ride. What does that mean? It means you will be able to walk, run, or ride your OWN race anytime during the race window, which will be October 31-November 14. You can participate in this race from anywhere, so join athletes from across the country and world for Rhythm and Roots 2020.. Virtual runs are great in the sense that you can do it on a treadmill, in your backyard if you have the room, a nearby trail or your neighborhood. If you are able to participate with some friends while being socially distancing responsible, that’s even better. We’ll miss seeing everyone in person this year, but can’t wait to connect with everyone in a new way. Join the Rhythm and Roots Race Facebook Group to connect with other participants, and post photos of your run/ride!
You will receive your awesome race medal and shirt after the race is completed. Thank you for supporting the race this year. We know you will LOVE the medals.
We look forward to seeing you VIRTUALLY!
1. Run your race:
5K and 10K anytime and place – record your time.
Just for fun: You may print your own custom virtual bib by logging into your RunSignup Profile and clicking the “View Pre-Race Bib” link under “Upcoming Events”
2. Submit results by November 14:
Click on our results link (you can also find it by clicking on “Results” on the dropdown menu at the top). You should be able to pull up your name and enter your time. There is also an option to upload a gpx or fit file, but this is not required.
Since people are running at different times and places making competitive ranking difficult, the results are not competitive for awards. We will rank submissions by age group based on submitted time.
You can record yourself as a finisher without submitting a time if you wish.
Thank you for your support of the Earl Scruggs Center– you make a difference!
