Greenrock has added more education and athletic activities to the Earth Hour Celebrations this year and the entire community is encouraged to take advantage of the family fun. Now there are options for the entire family and as a Greenrock supporter with varying interests you can sign up for any one activity or as many of the events as you wish. The day will start at 2pm with an Expo in Dockyard featuring energy efficient technologies that help us save money and live more sustainable lifestyles. This years festivities will also feature a 25K Family Bike Ride at 3pm from City Hall to the Clock Tower Mall featuring e-bikes that can be rented for the day during registration. At 6pm there will be a 5K Run between the North Lawn and Grey’s Bridge in Dockyard, followed by local entertainment, healthy food vendors and more. In conjunction with the rest of the world, there will be lights out at the event during Earth Hour ( 8:30 – 9:30 pm ) at which time there will be a 5K Glow Fun Walk and a Glow Flow Yoga session taught by the wonderful instructors at Lucky Elephant. Proceeds from these activities will all support the educational programs and initiatives provided by Greenrock, local charity #704.
