About the event
Our second annual Educate Girls Superhero 5K with 1K Fun Run will take place on November 9th at Urbana District Park. Proceeds from the race will go to educate impoverished girls in Malawi, Africa. Keeping girls in secondary school prevents child marriage, reduces risk of HIV and dying during childbirth. Girls receiving a secondary education can end the cycle of poverty for their families in one generation. The 1K Fun Run starts at 1:30PM and the 5K starts at 2PM. Strollers and dogs are welcome and asked to stay in back of starting line. Chip timing will allow accurate recording of times regardless of start position. Run with us to save girls!
