est. 2013 in Folsom, California
It’s all about Johnny! This runner-friendly, net-downhill, 13.1-mile course starts in the shadow of Folsom Prison, wends its way around scenic Lake Natoma, and finishes in Folsom’s famous Historic District. As soon you as you “cross that line” there’s a rockin’ Finish Line Festival complete with a Johnny Cash Tribute band, refreshments, and free beer – all to help you celebrate your accomplishment!
The Kids 1K Breakaway is held on the same morning as, and in conjunction with, the Folsom Blues Breakout Half Marathon and Carter ’n Cash Half-a-Half Relay. The event is open to all children 12 years and younger and online entry is free!
The event is held in the spirit of fitness and fun, and registration is only available online; no packet pick up or race day registrations will be accepted.
Not ready for a solo 13.1? Grab a friend and run the Half-a-Half! Enjoy all the perks received by the Half Marathoners but run half the distance. Shuttles and easy exchange access make this logistically simple and two times the fun!
This will be the “Fastest 5K in the West”… perhaps in the nation and the world! It is also beginning runner and walker friendly. It starts near the Folsom Crossing (aka Johnny Cash) Bridge and stays on well-paved roads, crosses the famous Rainbow Bridge, and finishes in Folsom’s famous Historic District.
