Fools Run 5k- World's Okayest Run

Run, walk, skip, or ride in a stroller, THIS is the most Foolish fun you will have ALL year at a race event!! 

At the Fools Run, the only thing we take seriously is HOW MUCH FUN you are going to have! 

This year the County played a HUGE April Fools joke on us, and told us our date was secured for 2024, then said, “April Fools, we accidentally gave it to a wedding!” It’s ok, we’re not gonna let a little oversight like that keep us from having the best time ever, so we’re gonna PIVOTTTTT and give Legacy Park a go at enjoying our fun!

The run will be held April 6th, 2024 at Legacy Park, with a start time of 8am! This will be a chip timed road race starting at the train station and running along the Intercostal Waterway, and finishing back at the pavilion.

Your finishing time will be texted or emailed to you based on what you have set up through RunSignUp, so make sure you put the right info, like yours, not your ex's cousin's info, they don't care how fast you are. But do run fast, because you know that those Fools over at Gulf Breeze Apparel are sure to come up with some sort of baller awards, so be ready to run as fast as your little legs will go! And of course, ALL finishers WILL receive a Foolish finisher's medal! Because who wants to run a race and not get a medal?! We're totally going to feed you and give you some drinks as well, Chick-fil-A Pelican Plaza will be filling those grumbly tummies, yummmmm.

Packet pick- Friday 4/5- 3pm-7pm at Gulf Breeze Apparel, 606 Cypress Ave, Venice.

Packets will also be available for pickup on race morning 7:00am - 7:45am under the pavilion.  

The MFRE Fools want to help as many fellow Fools as possible with this event! So, they are splitting up the proceeds from this event and benefitting both, The Active Suncoast Foundation and creating a scholarship for The Spero Clinic.  As some of you know, Race Director Amber Jacob was diagnosed with a chronic disease, CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), she has fought hard and is currently in remission, the scholarship to The Spero Clinic will help fellow CRPS patients with their treatment to also achieve remission.  Not only are you running for FUN, but you are running to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the lives of others!! <3
