FRIENDS OF JENNY WILEY 5K ROAD AND TRAIL RUN

EVENT: The Friends of Jenny Wiley 5K Road and Trail Run.  The race will take place in beautiful Jenny Wiley State Resort Park with a combination of road and trail segments.   All funds raised will be used in support of Jenny Wiley State Resort Park.  A fun run/walk of 1+ miles will also be available for any that are interested. 

 

WHERE:  Wilkinson-Stumbo Conference Center in Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, Prestonsburg, Ky.    WHEN: Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 9:00am. PARKING:  Parking available at the Wilkinson-Stumbo Conference Center, May Lodge and Executive Golf Course. RACE COURSE: 3.1 miles starting in the Wilkinson-Stumbo Conference Center parking area, up May Lodge road passing the lodge and continuing past the  cabins out to the end of the pavement at the Lakeshore Trail entrance.  Then follow the Lakeshore Trail to the boat dock road and then back to the conference center.   REGISTRATION:  Online Registration will close at 12pm on June 1, 2017.  Walk-Up registrations will be available from 7:30 to 8:30 on the morning of the race.   RACE FEES:  $20 early registration until midnight May 6, 2017.  Regular Registration $25 starting on May 7 thru the day of the race.  Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.  *please make checks payable to Friends of Jenny Wiley, Inc T-SHIRTS: T-Shirts are guaranteed to everyone who registers by 5/16/17. We encourage all participants to register early as T-Shirts may not be available for later entrants. AGE DIVISIONS:  Kids 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.   Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd females and males in each division.   Trophies will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place females and males overall finish.   DOOR PRIZES:  A variety of door prizes will be given out after the race.  All race participants will be entered into the drawings for the door prizes. 

 

***The mission of the Friends of Jenny Wiley State Park is to act as a Citizen Support Organization (CSO) assisting to identify and promote activities to conserve, enhance and interpret the natural, cultural, scenic, historic, educational and recreational resources of Jenny Wiley State Resort Park.  

We assist the park in achieving its goals of serving visitors and protecting park resources and raise money to provide additional support for park programs.
