Friends of Shawnee Challenge

The half marathon will begin in the main parking lot next to the boat launch and Pavilion 2. The race will end in front of the Shawnee beach bathhouse. The half marathon will be a single loop course consisting of approximately 2 miles of park road, 3.5 miles of gravel trail and 7.5 miles of double wide mixed-use hiking & biking trails. Total elevation gain for the race will around 1400 ft.

The 10K(ish) race will begin and end in front of the Shawnee beach bathhouse and will be a single loop course consisting of 1.5 miles of gravel trail and 6 miles of double wide mixed-use hiking & biking trails.

Both the half and 10K will have some short climbs and rolling hills, but the trails are not overly technical and therefore both courses are very run-able.

The 5K race (3.4 miles) will begin and end in front of the Shawnee beach bathhouse and will be a single loop on the gravel Lake Shore Trail. There will be two aid stations along the 5k course.
