Gabriella's 5K Cupcake Run

Join us for a great cause. Gabriella’s Smile Foundation is hosting their Third Annual 5k Cupcake Run on May 16, 2020. The 5K where everyone Runs for Cupcakes! Burn off some calories and enjoy a cupcake (or two) on us! Runners AND walkers welcome! This is a family friendly event for everyone and kids ages 5-14 can register as official participants.  May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month and we are raising money for Pediatric Brain Cancer Research. Cupcakes were Gabriella‘s favorite  and we want to share some with you while raising money to help fund brain cancer research and The Cure Starts Now.   FINDING A CURE FOR PEDIATRIC BRAIN CANCER A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to The Cure Starts Now. Since 2007, The Cure Starts Now has been one of the leaders in non-government funding of pediatric brain cancer research and a pioneer to the efforts to find the home-run cure to all cancers, starting with DIPG. 100% of donations made to The Cure Starts Now go directly to research.    MORE THAN JUST CUPCAKES We so appreciate all those who register for the race, but also all those who donate and fundraise on our behalf. We encourage you to not only participate by registering for the event, but to participate fully by donating and by creating your own personalized fundraising page. Choose “Become a Fundraiser” to create an individual fundraising page, or create your own fundraising team. You can choose to customize the page during registration or after via the link in the confirmation email, or just use it as is. Then all you need to do is share your page with your family and friends. Do you have TEN friends who would donate $10 to your efforts? If so, choose to be a fundraiser. It takes little effort, but makes a huge difference.  Participants who raise a minimum of $150 will be entered into a drawing for some cool prizes and we have some great incentive prizes for those who are eager to help us raise the most money.   ABOUT THE RACE Gabriella’s 5k Cupcake Run and Gabriella’s Smile Foundation is named after Gabriella Elise Torres, who was 5 when she battled Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a terminal form of brain cancer. She died just 8 days after her 6th birthday on November 7, 2015. Gabriella’s 5k Cupcake Run is the first of its kind here in the San Antonio community for Brain Tumor Awareness Month, which is in May. It’s the first 5k dedicated to pediatric brain cancer research in our community.   ENTRY FEES EARLY BIRD: 1/03/20– 3/1/20: $25 3/2/20 – 5/13/20: $35 5/14/20: $40 (manual registration at packet pick-up) Race Day Registration: $45 *No refunds will be available in the event you are unable to attend on race day. Packets not picked up by race day morning, will not be mailed out.    INCLUDED WITH REGISTRATION

* The only way to guarantee a race T-shirt and preferred size is to register by April 24, 2020. Unisex and youth sizes run big. Additional T-shirts will be ordered in an effort to provide race shirts for all participants, but quantities will be limited and on a first come, first serve basis during packet pick up and on race day.  **Runners MUST participate in the race in order to receive their medal. Packets not picked up during early packet pick-up or race day, will NOT be mailed out.  Virtual runner packets will be mailed out the week after the run.

No refunds will be given in the event of cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions.
