"Game On!" 5k Fun Run

The "Game On!" 5k Fun Run is the kickoff event for "RowdyCon" at California State University, Bakersfield.

"RowdyCon" is a day of fun and games at CSUB including the "Game On!" 5k Fun Run, the RowdyCon Game Convention with 25 themed game rooms, activities hosted by CSUB Student Organizations, speakers and panels, an escape room, a cosplay contest, a maid cafe, food trucks, and the "RowdyCon-Cert" in the evening, featuring Jason Hayes, composer for "World of Warcraft" and his musical group, "Critical Hit."

The "Game On!" 5k Fun Run will take you through the campus at CSUB where there will be stations playing game music and sound effects and you will be cheered on by game cosplayers.

Every runner will receive free entry into the "RowdyCon" Game Convention along with their race entry. That's a value of $10! Run while wearing your favorite game gear and win extra tickets for the prize drawings at "RowdyCon!"

All proceeds from all three events will benefit the Lauren Small Children's Center at Dignity Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, the only Children's Miracle Network hospital in Kern County. Campus Gamers, the host of the event, has raised over $110,000 for the children's hospital since 2012. This is their first 5k, but they are working with the PEAK Majors club at CSUB, which has extensive experience hosting 5k events at CSUB.
