About the event
Get Outside Mountain Relay (GOMR) is North Carolina's premier team running relay. 208 miles. 12 friends (or strangers that become friends). Challenging and beautiful running in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The best part is, you DON'T RENT VANS!! That's right. GOMR is the first ever shuttle supported hub relay. Live as an entire running community for the weekend. GOMR Nation opens on Thursday, May 31, 2018 for teams to check in and set up camp. The first wave of runners (Gomers) will leave out of GOMR Nation at 5:00am Friday, with waves following every 30 minutes.
Teams will camp (for free) in GOMR Village and eat, sleep, play games, listen to music, shop local and national brands, watch movies, and relax in GOMR Nation (campus of Blue Ridge Christian School) when they are not running. We will shuttle Gomers out to their legs to run, and back to GOMR Nation when they're done. And you will be running in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Alleghany County, NC. The route is a 104 mile loop that will be run twice to complete the 208 mile relay. Come to Alleghany County and experience the most unique relay experience in the world.
There is also a 1/2 GOMR Option where 9 runners will complete on loop of the relay. There are 18 running segments in the loop, so each runner will run twice.
