Wow, a great marathon! Orginisation was superb, friendly and efficient, Lots of freebies such Mizuno t-shirt a goddie bag and a free 4- hour city coach tour and view of the course for runner's and families. Which helped with some fears as this was the first year with the new course. And i can tell you running along side the ocean with palm trees in a warm 23c Heat (which was bearable for a scottish man) you could easily have mistaken it for California :) Plenty of water,Energy drinks, Sponge stations Banana's and fruit along the way. A run through the old town, city centre and then up along the sandy coast line of Las canteras beach to the finish line, High fiving and getting cheered on all along the way by the bouyant Local's, it's a Definate Bucket list Marathon for anyone. Loved and will be back again next year. And with just under 1200 people in the marathon i finished better than 50% :) Getting to the expo to collect bibs and goodie bags is easy it is in the shopping mall at the auditorio alfredo Kraus up the stair's to first floor. you will get all the help you need from theyr on wards plenty of Friendly English speakers who are happy to help. Any one flying into Las palmas Airport Head out side front of terminal there is a bus stop, get the number 66 bus and take it to the last stop santa catalina bus 2.90 euro per person (guagua) station and get a taxi to your hotel rented accomodation if you are staying in Las Palmas. Finaly the Canary Islands are nothing less than Paradise, especialy in January. Go for it !!

Half Marathon runner and full Marathon runner start at the same spot, but half marathoners finish in the old town, the 10k runners joined in at the end of the race which was annoying as they would be barging by you as you were near your last 4 miles.
