Julius Kiprono Tarus got a win, finishing with a time of 02:12:08. Abel Kaboci Waruinge secured second in this year’s race with a time of 02:15:13. Felix Keny Kipkemboi got the third place in 02:16:14.
For the women, Shelmith Nyawira Muriuki took top spot in 02:33:00 . She bested Fantu Zewude Jifar who crossed the finish line 12 minutes 18 secondes behind her. While Belaynesh Shifera Yigezu came in third at 02:45:56

In the ladies race, Aroa Merino Betancort took top honours by finishing the race in 00:36:10 . She bested Ine Bakken who crossed the finish line 34 secondes behind her. Iballa Lobo Ojeda got the third place in 00:37:53.

Results: Korir, Chepkoron claim victories in Spain

Marathon results
Julius Korir (2:14:43) bested more than 650 runners to win the Gran Canaria Maraton in Las Palmas, Spain.
Pharis Kimani (2:15:34) finished less than a minute off the lead in second.
Zemenu Tsega took third with a time of 2:18:44.

For the women, it was Elina Junnila (2:57:44) winning with ease.
She was the only female to finish under three hours.
Runner-up Lucy Biddlestone finished with a time of 3:04:21.
Ines Rinsum Van rounded out the top three at 3:10:08.
