This event is produced by Vacation Races and is part of our National Park Half Marathon Series.
We tried several times to get approval to run inside park boundaries, but were denied. This course is great, but it does not offer any canyon views. It’s run right on the border of the national park, in the Kaibab National Forest immediately west of Tusayan, AZ. From the starting line, you can drive approximately 5 minutes to the edge of the canyon. This is our first trail run in our national park series! We suggest wearing trail shoes if you have them, but there’s no need to go out and get new shoes for the course. Several of our staff ran the course in road shoes without issues.
The course begins at the new parking lot at the north end of Tusayan, AZ right outside the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
