Greater Goldsboro 10K/5K/1M

Experience one of the oldest road runs in North Carolina.  The event has been held annually since 1979.  Come be part of a running event with a long tradition and enjoy a run or walk on a USATF certified course primarily along streets lined with azaleas and dogwoods.  Enjoy the fellowship and food with other runners and walkers.  Make it a family affair with events for all members.

The Run for a Child – 42nd Annual Greater Goldsboro Road Run is facilitated by the Sunrise Kiwanis of Goldsboro.  The event is a fundraiser to help support our purpose of assisting the children and youth of our community.  The funds generated from event sponsorships and participants go toward financial support for over 20 local organizations that assist the needy children and youth of Wayne County.  

Our 10K run, 5K Run/Walk, and 1 mile Fun Run routes are downtown again this year.  The starting locations for all events will be near the Cornerstone Commons located downtown in Goldsboro NC with all starting times at 9:00 AM.

Registration and Pre-Registration:  Cornerstone Commons, corner of Chestnut Street and Center Street downtown Goldsboro.

5K Walk, 5K Run, 10K Run
$25.00 pre-registration/ $30.00 after April 11th / $35.00 on race day

1 Mile Fun Run
$15.00 registration/$12.00 each for 2 or more members of same immediate family

Deadline for pre-registration is April 11, 2020

Race day registration is from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM

Corporate Series/Team Competition

Teams will consist of 3 to 5 members with the first 3 finishers on each team counting in the scoring.  All team members must first register as an individual and then register as a team.  Team registration will begin race day at 7:30 AM.  First place in each team category will receive a trophy.  Corporate Team categories are: MASTERS (age 40 and over), female, and open.  Non-Corporate Team categories are male and female.  School teams are male and female.

TIMING:
Electronic bib timing by Run the East LLC.  All entrants must pick up bib tags at registration the morning of the run.

Race t-shirts are provided to all participants that pre-register and to most that register on the day of the event.  Post-event t-shirts can be ordered for participants requesting t-shirts on the sign up sheet provided on race day.

Shirt sizes are available in Youth Small, Medium, and Large and Adult Small, Medium, Large, and XL.

Notes: Participant registrations packs can be picked up on race day or from 5:30 - 6:00 PM on Friday, April 12th at the downtown Goldsboro Fire Department - garage entrance that faces out to the Cornerstone Commons. Please let us know if you plan early pick-up.
