Grey Rock Trail Race Ahotu abc779e2d55a765e25b4

July 08, 2017 (Saturday) The race has already taken place. # 13
Trail

Scenic summer trail runs in the Cascade Mountains of south central Washington near Yakima, WA (11th year). This out and back, single track trail, is tough and rugged with over 6,000 ft of elevation gain for the 50K. Don’t underestimate this one…..

Shorter 12K & 25K options are available which follow the same route, all starting at Tree Phones Campground (4800 ft elev.) in the Ahtanum State Forest.

Mt. Rainier from Whites Ridge on the Grey Rock Trail

There are views of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams, open ridges and forested stretches, rocky and smooth forest trails. The higher mountain elevation keeps the temperatures down, but it can still warm up by mid day. The 50K is an excellent training run for the White River 50 miler.
