Gritt's Fun Farm Run

The 5-ish mile farm run is a challenging mix of mountainous and unimproved dirt road. The course includes a dash through a pumpkin patch and around a corn maze.

Special Pricing

Pre-registration for the Gritt's Fun Farm Run is $25 for the first 100 runners (ONLINE ONLY), $30 until August 21st, and finally $35 until raceday.

WVMTR members in good standing will receive a $2.50 discount off registration fees of $30 and higher.

Pre registration closes on September 24, 2015 at 12P (noon). Beautiful technical t-shirt and a bag of Kettle Korn to all pre-registered runners. You may register online at for the same price as a mailed entry. There is no service fee for online entry. NO REFUNDS or TRANSFERS.

Aid

Aid stations stocked with water and sport drink will be located at mile 2.5 and the finish. A selection of farm treats replenish you at the finish.

Fall Farm Fun

Our fall season transforms our farm into a fun farm. We have 2 corn mazes, a hay maze, wagon rides, a large play area, a pick your own pumpkins patch and much more. Every registered runner will get two family farm fun passes. One for themselves (your bib number) and one for a guest.

Local Farm Food

The farm staff has something special planned for the runners.  More details as we get closer to the race date.

Parking

There will be volunteers guiding you in the parking areas. Please park in the spot that they assign you. The road is well traveled so if you park on the shoulder you will need to be completely off the road.

Restrooms

There are flush toilets and portajohns available in the fun farm.

Where is the farm?

From East: (Travel time from Charleston, WV is 40 minutes)
-Travel I-64 EAST to Exit 40 (US-35 N toward Winfield/Point Pleasant)
-At the end of the exit ramp turn RIGHT and continue on US-35 N.
-After 1.9 miles take the West Virginia 34 exit toward County Route 13/Winfield/Poplar Fork Rd
-Turn RIGHT onto WV-34 NORTH
-After 3.1 miles you will come to a stop light. Turn RIGHT onto WV-34 N/WV-817 S/Winfield Rd
-After 0.9 miles take the W Virginia 34 N ramp to VA-62/Eleanor/Poca.
-Cross the bridge over the Kanawha River.
-Turn LEFT onto WV-62 N/Charleston Rd
-Travel 4.4 miles. You will see Gritt’s Midway Greenhouses. (This is not the farm.)
-Directly after Gritt’s -Midway Greenhouse turn RIGHT onto Co Rte 26/Midway Rd.
-After 2.7 miles on a generally uphill and curvy road you will come to the intersection of Co Rte 12/Cross Creek/Steele Ridge.
-Turn Right. (There is a Gritt’s Farm sign) After 0.3 miles turn LEFT on Crow Cr Rd/Gritt Rd/
-After 0.8 miles you will be on the FARM!

From West: (Travel time from Huntington, WV is 55 minutes)
-Travel I-64 WEST to Exit 39. Take exit 39 for W Virginia 34 toward Teays Valley/Winfield.
-Turn left onto WV-34 N
-After 5.2 miles you will come to a stop light. Turn RIGHT onto WV-34 N/WV-817 S/Winfield Rd
-After 0.9 miles take the W Virginia 34 N ramp to VA-62/Eleanor/Poca.
-Cross the bridge over the Kanawha River.
