Yá’át’ééh riders! Welcome to the Hashkènìinii Bike Race!
REGISTRATION – REGISTRATION IS ONLINE ONLY! Registration for the race is now open. Your registration earns you a performance t-shirt, finisher’s medal, decal, copy of Navajo Trail Guide, a Navajo Parks race Series neck gaiter/face mask and plaque awards to top finishers.
(If the race is cancelled due to COVID protocols, riders will then complete a 50-mile course elsewhere during the three days of race weekend (Saturday, Sunday and Monday). All registered riders who submit their times by 12:00 noon on Tuesday will have their times posted and be eligible for awards. Please submit your info and evidence of your time after your race. This only applies if the live race is cancelled.)
ROUTES – Riders may ride the 50-mile paved route throughout the day on Saturday or Sunday. The start/finish area will be the dirt pull-off near the Ééhaniih rodeo grounds. There will also be a 10-mile race option open to all racers. The 50-mile race will begin/end at the rodeo grounds. Riders will head out to the Navajo Mountain community, back to the rodeo grounds, out among the canyons toward Inscription House and back to the rodeo grounds for the finish. We will track your time and have light support (nutrition, medical and mechanical) at the start/finish, but there will be no support on the course.
AWARDS – All riders will receive a finisher’s medal. There will be plaque awards for overall male/female champion and runner-up, youth winner (18 and under), master’s winner (40+), senior winner (50+).
The t-shirt will feature the likeness of Dine’ leader Hashkeniinii a legend in this area from the Long Walk era.
