HEARTLAND HALF MARATHON:
SPECIAL LOCATION FOR THIS YEAR ONLY! THE HEARTLAND WILL BE IN HUNTINGBURG FOR 2020!
The date for ninth annual Heartland Half Marathon is set for Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 7:30 a.m. Eastern Time (ET). The race features a great course that starts in the and finishes in downtown Huntingburg.
This is a hilly course that is fairly challenging. Please be sure to prepare yourself for the midway peaks in the course.
This race begins at the same time and date as the Half Marathon, Saturday, September 5 at 7:30 a.m. ET. The Half Marathon and 5K begin the same, but they will split apart very close to the start of the race. Be prepared to follow the volunteers’ directions at this split. .
HEARTLAND TEAM CHALLENGE:
The Heartland Team Challenge is a relay comprised of a 4-person team, and follows the same course as the Heartland Half Marathon – just split between the 4 participants. Teams will begin at the same time and date as the Heartland Half Marathon and 5K.
HEARTLAND KIDS FUN RUN:
The Heartland Kids Fun Run & Festival will take place on Saturday, September 5 as well! Details coming soon!
Festivities will include a variety of games, activities, and health information for the whole family to enjoy. In addition, there will be live music, performances by local dance and gymnastics teams, face painting, food for purchase, and so much more. The Heartland Kids Festival is FREE and open to the public.
RACE DAY REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE. Online registration will close earlier in order to be ready for packet pickups.
Shirt, shirt size, and/or packet is not guaranteed if registered after the August 10th cutoff. It will be based on availability after that point.
10% of the Heartland Half Marathon, 5K, and Team Challenge goes into the DC Multisport Endowment for succession planning of the organization and for future charitable donations. The rest of the proceeds from Heartland Half Marathon, 5K, and Team Challenge will be given to the Phillip R. Dawkins Heart & Vascular Center to be utilized for new integrative medicine services provided to patients at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
All of the proceeds from the Kids Fun Run and Festival will benefit Girls on the Run Serving Dubois County.
