About the event

The annual Helene Cody Cranbury 5k & One Mile Fun Run is the main fundraiser for the Helene Cody Foundation, whose mission is to inspire youth to volunteer to better their communities and themselves. The course is flat and fast, winding through tree-lined streets of Cranbury, NJ. Helene intended on reviving the Cranbury Day 5k, an event that had been discontinued in 2006, as her 2008-2009 Girl Scout gold award project. This work would combine her love of distance running and community service. When she passed away in 2008, a classmate held the first 5K & Fun Run in memory of Helene for his Eagle Scout project. Every year since the first annual Helene Cody Cranbury 5k in 2009, the Helene Cody Foundation has used the 5k to bring the community together and use the proceeds to sponsor youth service projects and provide scholarships. Don't forget to enjoy the Cranbury Day celebration immediately after the race.

Uplifting community event which was first envisioned as Helene Cody's Girl Scout Gold Award. Tragically, she died of a brain aneurysm on her 16th birthday. Her classmate, Greg Carroll had hosted the first Helene Cody Cranbury 5K as his Boy Scout Eagle Project. This is the seventh annual event and is the major fundraiser for the Helene Cody Foundation. The mission is to inspire youth to volunteer to better their communities, and themselves.
