It was my first marathon and I loved it! The route wasn't that difficult, mostly flat. Part of it was along the sea shore and it was absolutely beautiful! There were plenty of refreshment stations, providing water and energy drinks. After 28km there were also some small snacks like raisins, gherkins, and energy gels, to keep us going. Pretty decent goodie bag at the end as well :) Couldn't have asked for a better first marathon! Shout-out to the organizers! :)

It was a very nice 5K in the heart of Helsinki with a really good goody bag in the end. The only negative mention is the logistics: need to go to centre to get the starting package and then to start which is much further away (it is not a round track).

What would it feel like if you could run in the centre of a European capitol and feel like running in a park? Well, Helsinki Marathon can give you that. Also, it a race with no big elevation differences. (maybe the only no-so-great part is that it's a two-lap race, so some places will be visited twice. But, no worries, you will be running in the centre of the city with lots of people cheer you up, great nature sites, over bridges, through overwhelming neighbourhoods.
