About the event

This event is one of New Zealand’s longest standing and most iconic running and walking events and this year we are very excited with the continuation of the Hoka One One Taupo Marathon to the event.
Join us on Saturday 3rd August for an awesome day out with friends and family. We now have an event option for all fitness levels with the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km options - so choose your challenge and we’ll see you on the start line.

Marathon Ben Twyman scored victory with a time of 02:39:30. He finished 2 minutes 20 seconds ahead of Chris Lines. Finishing third was Clinton Manderson (02:45:21). For the women, Natalie Price finished first in 03:06:14 . Wendy Taylor earned runner-up honours with a time of 03:24:27. Results: Hurring sets mark to beat in Taupo

Marathon results Close to 300 runners took part in the newest waterfront race at New Zealand’s oldest and most iconic running event. Luke Hurring set the time to beat in the Hoka One One Taupo Marathon with his 2:42:30 finish. Runner-up Phil Murray (2:43:47) managed to make it in as the only other runner to complete the course in under two hours and 50 minutes. Martin Ferry finished in 2:51:57 to take third. For the women, it was Posey Wall (3:15:10) beating out Beth Hampton (3:17:38) for the top spot in the new race. Caitlin MacMurray rounded out the top three with a time of 3:19:56.
