Hound Hustle 10K, 5K & 1-mile Trot

The Hound Hustle 10K, 5K & 1-mile Trot with Spot takes place on picturesque courses in the beautiful Brunswick Forest community. The whole event is pet friendly but is also set up with the 10K starting five minutes before the 5K since most dogs participate in the 5K or 1-mile Trot with Spot. There will be inside bathroom available before and after the race and post race activities take place in a park beside a small lake with awards, prize drawings and good snacks and drinks. The pet costume contest is the highlight of the awards ceremony with three bobble head pet trophies awarded with winners selected by audience cheering. The 1-mile Trot with Spot and the 5K welcomes well behaved pooches so if your dog is ready to go 3.1 miles then get in there!

NO DOG, NO PROBLEM!! Both the 10K and the 5K are well suited for serious runners if that's your thing. The 1-mile and the 10K walk both start 20 minutes before the main race start. All runners get to see the awesome Trot with Spot start/finish with some of the cutest dogs and best dog costumes ever. Then the 10K starts and the 5K shortly after that so.... no dog, no problem. 

1-MILE TROT WITH SPOT is a fun, un-timed event that covers approximately 1-mile. The start/finish is the same as the other distances so all the 10K & 5K runners will be there to cheer in the 1-milers and enjoy seeing all the dogs,  in costume or not, and the kids and adults with their pets. It's a fun and festive event that everyone always enjoys. All 1-mile participants receive a race t-shirt and kids get a prize at the finish.  

10K & 5K Awards: Customized running medals go 2-deep in age groups. Winner awards are Bobble Head running trophies going 3-deep overall in the 5K and 3-deep in open and masters in the 10K. All kids in the 1-mile get an award.

Three Dog Costume Awards: Costume awards for dogs are bobble head trophies. The three awards are for Best dressed dog, Dog and owner who look the most alike (in costume) and Fan Favorite. All three category winners are picked by the audience with the award going to the costumed dog with the loudest cheers!

The race is stroller and walker friendly!

T-Shirts: 

Shirts are very nice, gender specific soft cotton running shirts. The ladies shirts run one size small so ladies, select your size accordingly. NOTE: If you are female and want a male shirt size just select one of the sizes that does not say "female". That will get you a male cut/sized shirt.

10K, 5K & 1-mile Trot with Spot all get a race t-shirt.  

Shirts are guaranteed through April 30th. We'll order extra but to be sure sign up before the 10th to guarantee your shirt.

10K Early Start: For walkers or run/walkers doing greater than a 1:20 10K there is an early start (20) minutes before the regular 10K start. This allows walkers and run/walkers to enjoy the race and finish about the same time as most other runners. Early starters get the same shirts and cover the same course as everyone else. Your results will be displayed in your age group, Note that the 1-mile Trot with Spot "takes off" with the 10K early start so runners get to cheer on the early starters and see the owners and pooches finish the 1 mile event - fun for everyone!

RACE DAY PACKETS at the Fitness Center in Brunswick Forest at 7:00 am.

COSTUME CONTEST: There will be costume context trophies for the best costumed pet, trophy for the dog and owner who look the most alike!, as well as fan favorite dog in costume. There will be prizes from our sponsors and from 5 Star Race Productions so get "suited up" and run in costume. It will be an awesome experience for you and for the other runners and spectators!
