Hyer Faster Stronger 5K and 1K Fun Run

Welcome to the 3rd Annual Hyer Faster Stronger 5K and and 1K Fun Run!  This event is hosted by the Hyer Preschool Association which connects and supports families with young children who will attend Hyer Elementary.  Proceeds of this race go directly to Hyer Elementary to improve the educational experience for students at Hyer.

The event includes a 5K race through University Park (certified course), as well as a 1K fun run for young children.  Celebration with post race activities at Smith Park for all ages.  This is a great event for all levels of runners and walkers and will be a great event for the whole family.  

Event Timeline:

May 2 7:30 AM CDT – Race Day Registration Opens
May 2 9:00 AM CDT – 5K Start
May 2 9:00 AM CDT – Food Trucks and Bounce Houses Open
May 2 9:45 AM CDT – Kids Warmup
May 2 10:00 AM CDT – 1K Start
May 2 10:20 AM CDT – Awards Ceremony
May 2 12:00 PM CDT – Post Race Celebration Ends
Start/Finish Line Location: 4000 Greenbrier, Smith Park, University Park, TX

Registration: Opens in March after Spring Break

5K Run/Walk: Open to all ages (recommended 8+); Strollers welcome but must line up last; children in strollers do not need to be registered

1K Kids Race: (10 and under); Parents are welcome to race with smaller children but need not register

Pricing:  

5K Certified Course: $40/person (price increases to $50 on race day)
1K Fun Run: $25/person (price increases to $30 on race day)

Parking: There is no designated parking area for the race, as the event takes place through a residential neighborhood. If you are local to UP, please walk, do not drive, to the race start in Smith Park. For those commuting to the race, you will not be able to turn east onto Caruth or Greenbrier from Preston Road. Please park on the street anywhere south of Greenbrier Drive (NOT on Greenbrier), or on the streets north of Caruth between Preston and Pickwick.

-5K Run chip timed
-Runners and walkers of all ages are encouraged to participate. Strollers are permitted, but for the safety of all participants, inline skates, bikes, and scooters are not permitted.
-500+ expected number of attendees, targeting families from the Park Cities and surrounding neighborhoods
-All registrants will receive t-shirt and bib. Packet pickup dates and times TBD.
-Race route is entirely residential through beautiful University Park
Post-Race Celebration at Smith Park features awards, food trucks, and kids party zone
