About the event
The Iowa Walks for Epilepsy & 5K is an event organized by the Epilepsy Foundation of Iowa. Come together and join others to raise money to help support the services and programs to people living with epilepsy in Iowa! The 5K run will be a chipped timed event again this year! Be ONE of the first 26 teams to raise $1,000 and be recognized at the event as part of the “Grand Walk Club"! This is your opportunity to impact people's lives by raising funds as a team in honor of your loved one for people living with epilepsy in Iowa. Create a team and a fundraising team from this registration site.
ONLINE SILENT AUCTION We will hold an online silent auction at the event and will post the link prior to race day so you can start your bidding prior to the walk.

8 AM Registration and Pre-Walk Festivities in Shelter #6
9:30 AM Start time for the 5K
We will be awarding medals to the 1st and 2nd place male and female finishers in the 5K Run for the following categories: 19 & under, 20 - 35, 36 - 45 and 46 & over.
The 1 Mile Walk will start immediately after the runners have started, but walkers will be on a separate course nearby.

*Important: The Iowa Walks for Epilepsy and 5K in Iowa City will be held rain or shine. We do not offer refunds due to inclement weather. All registration fees and contributions go toward serving individuals, families, caregivers with epilepsy programs and services, as well as advocacy efforts. The deadline to receive a T-shirt with a paid $25 registration fee is May 21st. For those registering after May 21st, there will be a limited number of extra T-shirts for sale at the event for $10/shirt. If registering after May 21st and you pay the $25 fee, you are not guaranteed a T-shirt.
A Pre-Registration Event will take place the night before from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM at Lower City Park, 200 East Park Road, Shelter #8 (Enclosed Shelter) in Iowa City! Complete early check-in, sign up walk-in registrants and pick up your t-shirts.

On Friday, April 24th from 4:30- 6:30 PM, participants should come to the Iowa City Public Library, Room A to pick-up their race packet and T-shirt. Additionally, participants will be able to register in person if they did not register online. The library is located downtown Iowa City at 123 South Linn Street, Iowa City. On the day of the event, April 25th, registration and packet pick-up will be at 9:00 AM. The chip-timed 5K Run will start promptly at 10:30 AM, followed by the 1 Mile Walk on a separate course. Registration for the 5K and 1 Mile Walk: Ages 12 & Younger does not include a T-shirt, but you can purchase additional shirts for $10.00 each, if ordered online by 4/10/2015. A limited quantity of shirts will also be available for purchase on the day of the event.
