The Island City Mile is going VIRTUAL this year!
The Island City Mile was established to help fundraise for the Lakeland Union High School Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
The Island City Mile will take place anywhere you choose…on a track, on the roads, in your backyard, on a treadmill, or anywhere else you can run or walk! We’re going old school here as well…we’re running 1 Mile, not 1600 meters. One Mile is 1609.34 meters if you need the metric equivalent.
Race day is July 3 at 7:00 PM, but you can run your race at anytime between Midnight July 2, 2020 and Midnight July 5, 2020. You will receive an email on how to submit your results.
The Island City Mile will feature races by division and gender:
Open—Anyone is eligible for this division
Middle School—Students who have just completed grades 6 thru 8
High School—Students who have just completed grades 9 thru 12
Masters—Athletes aged 35 and older
No awards will be given this year; bragging rights only! All registrants will be eligible for door prizes.
Online registration ONLY. Registration closes at 11:59 PM on July 2, 2020.
Island City Mile t-shirts and custom souvenir bibs will be sent to all participants. Participants must be registered by June 26, 2020 to recieve their t-shirt and bib prior to race day. All registrations after June 26 will receive a virtual bib, with their t-shirt and souvenir bib being sent after the event.
Your entry fee includes shipping of your t-shirt and souvenir bib as well as any door prize you might win. If you desire, an $8 donation will offset the cost of shipping and allow all of your entry fee to go to the Lakeland Union High School Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
