JUMP, HOP, SPRING - 5K, Fun Run and Carnival

On April 2nd, Spring Initiative is celebrating the beginning of our favorite season with a 5K, races for the little ones and a carnival for the whole family! The event is a fundraiser for our local after-school programs and will feature a 5K and two Kids Races - a Mini Run (children under 6) and a Fun Run (children 6-12). In keeping with our theme, the races will include voluntary JUMP, HOP, and SPRING obstacles.

At Spring, we care about the health and fitness of our students. Beyond just our kids, we want to encourage all children to be healthy - that's why our running events are free for K-12th grade students! Adults can register for the 5K for $25 by March 2nd. The cost will be $30 after March 2nd. Registration packets include a race t-shirt and goodies from our sponsors. Register online by March 15th to guarantee your t-shirt!

Following the 5K, we will host a carnival with tons of fun activities for the whole family! Come out for face painting, a photo both, woodworking, a treasure hunt, a sponge toss, dance competitions, a jump rope contest, and more.

From 11am to 1pm, we'll have a Chili Cook-Off featuring entries from local favorites as well as from people throughout Clarksdale and the surrounding area!

JUMP, HOP, SPRING is a fundraiser for our kids - so everyone who turns out to run, play, or eat will not only be having a great time, but will also be helping provide high-quality after-school programs for over 45 students from Clarksdale and Coahoma County. So come on out on April 2nd and help support Spring Initiative. The schedule for the day is as follows:
