What: Kick Out Mesothelioma 5-Miler Run/Walk and 2.5 Mile Non-Competitive Walk

When: Friday August 31st, 2018 6PM 5-Miler, 6:15PM 2.5 Mile Walk

Where:

5-Miler Starts at corner of Cutter St and Eastern Promenade. Both events finish at the corner of Marginal Way & Sewage Treatment Plant Rd.

2.5 Mile Walk Start is at Sewage Treatment Plant Rd near finish of 5-Miler.

For whom: In Memory of John W Griffin, a pipe-fitter, city councilor, & Navy Veteran who died in 2003 of cancer caused by Mesothelioma during his years as a pipefitter and exposure to asbestos. All proceeds from this event will go towards Mesothelioma Research.

Cost: Early Bird 5-Miler $17 by April 30th, $20 Thereafter Until Race Day

Early Bird 2.5 Mile Walk $15 by April 30th $17 Thereafter Until Race Day

Amenities: All registrants are guaranteed a shirt by August 1st, as available thereafter. Custom Bib Numbers.

Awards: $50 Cash Prizes Top Overall Male & Female. Awards to Top 2 in age groups 19 & Under to 80+, and Top Club, Corporate, & Open Teams of 4 or more people.

Post Race Party Fore Play Sports Pub 436 Fore St beginning when walkers finish and arrive. Awards ceremony 7:45PM.

Packet Pickup & $25 Race Day Registration: 4PM-5:45PM Race Day at Fleet Feet Maine Running 309 Marginal Way Portland, ME.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION: The start is approximately 1.3-miles from Fleet Feet Maine Running . The best option is to have your spectators or Walkers as they start at 6:15PM drive you to the start and park near Fleet Feet Maine Running  (0.3 miles from Finish) to watch you finish.

Directions to Start
From Fleet Feet Maine Running on Marginal Way, take a left out of the parking lot onto Diamond St and turn left onto Fox St. At your second stop sign bear slightly to the left and continue up Walnut St. Continue to the end and turn right onto the Eastern Promenade, race start is 0.5 miles on your left.

Directions to Fore Play Sports Pub
Follow Marginal Way to Franklin St & turn left at the light. At your 5th set of lights turn right onto Fore St. Fore Play 0.3 miles on your left.
