The races are run along the Geneva lake, though the vineyards and the different villages between Lausanne and Vevey.
The first edition was held in 1993, when the Olympic Museum was inaugurated.

Lausanne Marathon is an out and back run from Lausanne to Vevey.
You will start at Place de Milan in Lausanne and hit the road eastward toward Vevey. When you’ll reach half course at La Tour de Peilz, you will run back to Lausanne to finish in front of the Olympic Museum fountain.
On your way you’ll run though vineyards and visit villages along the coast.
The race is hilly.
The race follows the second half of the marathon. You will start at La Tour de Peilz and ends in Lausanne in front of the Olympic Museum fountain.
