Let's Move! Day Apopka 5K & 10K Walk or Run

The race has been postponed due to Hurricane Matthew and rescheduled for October 30, 2016.

BENEFICIARY

A portion of the race proceeds will go to help fund programs directly related to educating families in living healthy lifestyles. Join us to raise awareness so that our children can reach adulthood at a healthy weight.

The 5K/10K and Fun Run is open to all runners, joggers, walkers, and children under 18 with parental permission. Beginners, intermediates and experts are all invited.

Registration will also take place on the day of the race starting at 6:00 AM.

PRE-RACE PACKET PICK-UP EVENT
Pick up on Oct. 29, 2016 from 7 - 9 PM. Abundant Life event from 7 - 8 PM at the Apopka SDA Church.

PRE-RACE WARM-UP
A guided pre-race warm up will be available for participants at 7:00 AM. There is no charge to participate in the warm up.

COURSES
Both the 5K and 10K races will begin at 7:30am from the Apopka Seventh-day Adventist Church using the West Orange Trail.

10K USATF Certified Course # FL16018TY
5K USATF Certified Course # FL16019TY

The purpose of the USATF course certification program is to produce road race courses of accurately measured distances. For any road running performance to be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked, it must be run on a USATF-certified course. In addition, the certification program is very important to the average road racer, as well as those of exceptional speed. Most runners like to compare performances run on different courses, and such comparisons are difficult if course distances are not reliable. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate.

KID'S FUN RUN
The children will use the inner track on the ground of the Apopka Seventh-day Adventist Church. There will be three heats: 0-5 y/o, 6-9 y/o, 10-12 y/o beginning at 9:00 am. All children's races and activities are free of charge, but all children must be registered by official guardian. Kid’s shirts are one size fits all ensured through pre-registration.

AWARDS AND AMENITIES
All pre-registered entrants who register by September 9, 2016 will receive a commemorative athletic tech-shirt. All pre-registered entrants registered after September 9, 2016 will receive a cotton blend t-shirt. Shirts not guaranteed on race day. All participants will receive a medal. There will be 13 age divisions: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and older. An award will be given to the top male & female in each age group.

RACE TIMING AND SCORING
The race will be professionally timed and scored by RaceSmith, Inc. The race will be timed using disposable, electronic tags attached to the bib number. Please wear your bib number to the front, pinned at all four corners, visible, and unaltered. Printed results will be posted at the race site and live online during the race at www.RaceSmith.com
