Longmont CollaBEERation 5k & Brew Fest

RUNNING. BEER. COMMUNITY. HIGH FIVES. We're about that life! Join us for our 5th Edition of CollaBEERation 5k & Brew Fest held on Saturday, April 6th, 2019 - presented by Shoes & Brews, Salomon & Oskar Blues Brewing! 

Let us break it down . . . . We like running, we like beer, we like high fives, we like food, we like music, we like friends, we like giveaways! That's really what our 5k race series is. All of our favorite things, jammed into one day of fun and held only twice a year! We will host you in a great 5k run/walk followed by a unbeatable after-race expo full of beer & cider, music, food and giveaways! And EVERYTHING is included in your race entry! 

NEW THIS YEAR: 

NEW COURSE: This year, things are going to be a little different on the course as there is serious construction on our normal route!  BUT, glass half full right . . . . yay new course! With construction areas still up and unfinished we won't know the exact course until closer to race day, but we will keep everyone up to date as things get more finalized and you can except a start and finish line at S&B. 

TWO WAVE STARTS: In order to keep things nice and smooth out there on the trail, we are going to do two wave start times. An elite wave, starting at 9:30 AM and then our open start at 10 AM. Not sure which you fall in, don't worry, our registration will take you through the questions. Anyone 22 minutes and under will fall to our first wave. There will be prizes for top elite wave and top open heat waves. And also overall age group prizes will still be in place.

REGISTRATION Includes: Chip Timed 5k, event customized FANNY PACK !!!!  ($27 value), entry into after-race bib raffle, beer, cider, food, live music by 90%90s and special discounts / sale at S&B all weekend long!

Once your race finishes you'll enter the epic after-race expo party at Shoes & Brews with food, beer, cider, live music and an unbeatable bib raffle giveaways! 

If you’re feeling rather fast on race day, you may even qualify to win your weight in beer! First place female and male runners will walk away with a keg from Oskar Blues! So start adding in the speed-work and the gains because how often do you have the chance to win YOUR WEIGHT IN BEER?? Our second wave of overall female and male winners will win a pair of shoes front Salomon! 

Then we've got age group prizes for the top 2 in each age group - rewarding you with beer either from Shoes & Brews or Oskar Blues Brewing! (*except if you are under 21).

1st place & 2nd place in your age group are rewarded with beer!

Feel like you need that little bit of extra help in your training to get that PR or feel great on race day? We've teamed up with local Longmont based company RunLife Analytics to provide every participant with a free personalized 5k training plan leading up to the race. All you have to do is follow the link in your race confirmation email. You'll answer a few additional questions on their site and then you'll see a personalized 5k training plan sent to your inbox. (You fancy! And fast!)

If you’re feeling less fast and more fancy, we have added the Best Dressed category to our race again this year. Winners of this category will receive the sublime Beer 4 A Year Certificate,  which is obviously worthy of you putting in some effort on that costume you’ve been thinking about. Competition can be feirce for this one!

If you’re not feeling fast OR fancy, you can just try your luck at being a random prize winner! Shoes, watches, apparel, nutrition, race entries, beer, gift baskets and MORE will be raffled off after overall awards. Our giveaways can't be beat! Must be present to win, so make sure you give yourself some time after race to listen to some music, drink some beer, and prep for giveaways! 

We are excited to announce that this year, the part of the race proceeds will go to the Long's Peak Hospitial Foundation. The LPHF provides resources and invests in families, friends and neighbors here in Longmont. The foundation helps provide value-added services, education, patient financial assistant and community health programs that are not covered by insurance . 

SOME OF THE IMPORTANT DETAILS:

RACE DAY: Saturday, April 6th, 2019. Elite Wave start time at 9:30 am, Open Wave start time at 10 am.  

RACE REGISTRATION ONLINE or IN-STORE AT SHOES & BREWS:

$35 through the end of January 2019.  $40 through end of February 2019.  $45 March & Race Day Registration or through sell-out. 

PACKET PICK -UP: Friday, April 5th from 2-8 pm at Shoes and Brews or 8:30- 9:45am on race day at Shoes & Brews tent.  Packet Pick-up is HIGHLY SUGGESTED ON FRIDAY as lines on Saturday morning can get long! For those who attend our weekly Thursday Night SOCIAL we will host a soft unadvertised packet pick-up Thursday April 4th from 5 - 8 PM.

PARKING: Shoes & Brews (63 S. Pratt Parkway, Unit B, Longmont Co. 80501) There will be a team of parking attendants to guide you to designated parking. Watch for large orange signs and team members in bright vests with signage that morning to help direct you.

Day of race, tents with snacks will be specially marked! ** Friends and family are welcome to join us on the race course to cheer everyone on and after at the after-race and finish line at Shoes & Brews. There is no fee to enter the after-race expo, but if you plan to partake in an adult beverage from one of our great local breweries outside (by making a cash donation to LPHF) or inside from one of the 20 taps please make sure to bring your I.D. with you and get a wrist band ***
