Donegal Wild Atlantic Way Marathon

Epic. Simply Epic. I am so grateful that this event compelled me to return to beautiful Donegal. Do not hesitate to run it, but be sure to train accordingly. Expect some elements, elevation, and wind as this isn't your local city marathon. It's an experience like none other! Who gets to run in such scenery? You will simply not regret completing this event! Event organizers were responsive and friendly, just like all the lovely Irish people!

Mile 12 to 16 is a long climb but the very end is downhill. If you do even a little hill running you'll be "grand" as the Irish say!

My daughter and I ran the Wild Atlantic Donegal for the first time in 2019. I have to say it was the most amazing run I have ever undertaken. It is very relaxed and friendly atmosphere , the way you are catered for at the finish is fantastic.. I will be there again in 2020, my daughter wants to run it again , she is getting married the following Friday so will have to wait till next year..

The views are stunning, the hills are challenging it's all about mind over matter

This was like running two marathons! 705meters of total elevation. We didn't get the weather for it, but all the struggles makes the medal even more satisfying for pushing through it all!
