Malverne 5K Run/Walk For Education

Malverne 5K Run-Walk, October 16, 2016

The Malverne 5K run-walk for education, organized by the Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation (MEFF) takes place on October 16th. The net proceeds of the 5K run go to the MEFF, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization supporting youth programs in the Malverne school district. The packet pickup and day-of-run registration take place at the Malverne high school at 7:45 a.m. (school located east of Ocean Ave.).

The main event, 5K run, is preceded by a fun run (300 meters) for kids of age 10 and under. The start of the kids run is at the intersection of Wicks Ln and N. Cambridge St. Kids (and their parents) run opposite the 5K course to the start of the 5K run. The fun run starts at 8:30.

The Malverne 5K run and walk starts at 9:00 at Wicks Lane next to the H.T. Herber middle school gym (75 Ocean Ave). The 5K course is winding through Malverne, Lynbrook, and Lakeview. (Click the thumbnail to enlarge the picture). The finish is behind the Malverne high school. Parking is available at the two HS parking lots and adjacent streets. Please, do not park on Wicks Lane, the start location and course direction!

Registration and Fee
Registration is open. Students up to age 18 pay $5 (displayed at the checkout). Adults 19 and up pay $20 + $2.50 fee online till online registration closing on October 14. You can also download the pdf form from http://malvernerun.org/registration/
Mail-in form registration fee is $20, $5 youth. $25 and $5 respectively after October 16. Make checks payable to MEFF.

Awards
The awards are not duplicated.
Fun run: Each participant gets a medal.

5K run: top 3 males/females overall; age groups: male/female 11 and under, 12–14, 15–19, and then every 5 years up to age 94, master (40+), senior master (60+), school district 12 resident, school district 12 employee, school district teams, wheelchair.
