About the event
Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training, Inc.
On June 9th 2019, MCVET will hold our 24th Annual 5K/10K Race/Walk. Our legacy and tradition has inspired hope and prosperity for thousands of homeless veterans and their families.
With your support our 24th Annual Race will continue this legacy and continue to be a beacon of hope to homeless veterans and other veterans in need. Our Event raises support and awareness for our program.
All proceeds benefit the Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training, Inc.
The mission of MCVET is to provide homeless veterans and other veterans in need with comprehensive services that will enable them to rejoin their communities as productive citizens.

This fee is not tax deductible.
There are no refunds of entry given or transfers of entry permitted for this event.

Awards Ceremony including: Medals, Trophies and Cash Prizes; Water on the course; Refreshments; Commemorative T-Shirt; Random drawing for prizes; Names of all finishers posted.
Awards:
Cash awards for the top three men and women runners: $125.00, $75.00 and $50.00.
Top masters (male and female): $50.00 each
Age Group Awards: 5K - 10 & under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over
Age Group Awards 10K - 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over
Courses:
The MCVET 5K/10K races are open, amateur races beginning and ending at the War Memorial Building near City Hall in Baltimore, Md. Both flat and relatively fast courses overlook the skyline of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. USAT&F-certified and sanctioned course.
10K COURSE
The 10K Course starts on Lexington Street between Holliday St. and N. Gay St, making a right turn onto N Frederick St, Right onto Fayette Street, left turn onto St. Paul Street which becomes Light Street, left turn onto Key Highway, right turn onto Lawrence Street and a left turn onto Fort Avenue until the turnaround located 150 feet before Fort McHenry. Follow Fort Avenue back to right turn onto Lawrence Street and a left onto Key Highway back to a right turn onto Light Street leading north past the Inner Harbor where it becomes Calvert Street (at Pratt Street), continuing on Calvert Street and turn right onto Lexington Street and following Lexington Street to the FINISH.
5K COURSE
The 5K Course is identical to the 10K, with a turnaround at Pier Side/Cross Street and return to the War Memorial Building.
Post-race Activities:
Awards ceremony (cash awards and age group awards, medals and trophies) immediately following each race. Random awards available; you must be present to win. Refreshments will be provided. This is an Chip Timed race provided by Charm City Run Events.

Event Guidelines:
Please no roller blades, skates, bikes, dogs, pets or headphones allowed on the race course. Your race number must be worn on your front and must be visible. DO NOT exchange or give your race number to another participant.
