Monster Mash 5k/10k

Welcome to the Third Annual Monster Mash 5k. On Your Left Fitness partners with the Town of Oro Valley Parks and Recreation and Steam Pump Ranch in hosting the Monster Mash Party and 5k Run/Walk. In addition, there will be a KIDS' FREE FUN RUN, where kids can come run in their halloween costume. 

New in 2018 - This NOT just another 5k. You will have to perform tasks at four stations on the course before you run out to the turn around on the riverpath. There will be one final station before you cross the finish line.

Please read the following so you understand how the race will unfold: The Course

It will be a chip start/chip finish. The race starts in Steam Pump Ranch, runs through the hayride field before you enter the riverpath to the turnaround in the Oro Valley Marketplace.

Station One - You will pick up an apple WITH YOUR CHIN (no hands) and carry it under your chin to Station Two

Station Two - You will eat a donut (without using your hands). The donuts will be dangling on a string, or you can choose to eat one on a plate. After you have finished your donut, you will run to Station Three

Station Three - You will pick a pumpkin. Keep in mind that this pumpkin will remain with you throughout the rest of the race. You will carry the pumpkin to Station Four

Station Four - You will paint (with magic markers) your pumpkin with a face. The face will be judged at the finish line by Parks and Rec staff. The runner with the best pumpkin face will receive a special award. You will then carry your painted pumpkin on the rest of the run/walk. 

Station Five - Just before the Finish Line will be a table with pieces of paper. You will grab a piece of paper and read the riddle. When you think you know the answer to your riddle, then you will run across the finish line (timing mat). You will be asked to see your riddle. If you correctly answer the riddle, your chip time stands. If your answer is incorrect, 5 minutes will be added to your finish time. The pumpkin is yours to keep. If you want your pumpkin entered in the final contest, be sure to write your name on it. 

Participants who register by August 31, 2018, are guaranteed to receive an event-specific t-shirt.  ALL 5k participants will receive a custom finisher's medal and a free BBQ dinner. 

The kids will enjoy a free fun run through the hayride field and then back to the finish line. Each child will receive a bib number and finisher's medal. The finish line area includes a maze, pumpkin painting, bobbing for apples, Spook Alley, and Zombie Archery Shoot, courtesy of Oro Valley Parks and Recreation/Steam Pump Ranch. 

**On-site registration will be available on race day from 5:00-5:30 p.m. for $60, so register online and save! :)

Monster Mash Party

Join Oro Valley Parks and Recreation, along with On Your Left Fitness, for a fun evening at the Steam Pump Ranch that includes Free Halloween Fun Run for the kids, halloween-themed crafts and games, music, food and much more!

The kids will enjoy a scary scavenger hunt, pumpkin painting, bobbing for apples, Spook Alley, and an extra special children appropriate straw maze courtesy of Oro Valley Parks and Recreation/Steam Pump Ranch.
