Myakka River Half Marathon - Run for the Memories

Blingrunners, LLC is pleased to announce the Inaugural Myakka River Half Marathon / 5K, to be held in the beautiful Myakka River State Park in Sarasota, Florida on November 21, 2015.

This beautiful course runs through the park all on paved roads under tree canopies, along the shores of Myakka Lake. This is Real Florida. This course will be USATF Certified. There will be a great after party and lots of perks! This race will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association – Florida Gulf Coast.

At BlingRunners we are very passionate about helping to find a cure for this atrocious disease. On April 1, 2015 Kimberly Hussey, co-owner of BlingRunners LLC, lost her mother to Alzheimer’s. She was only 68 years old.

With your entry fee or donation you will be helping fund the research to find a cure. The Alzheimer’s Association truly feels that they are within 10 years of finding a cure. Run this race in memory of someone you love that is fighting this disease now or a loved one who lost their battle to this disease. We are hosting the event in loving memory of Kim’s mom, Charlene Corniel.

Early registration will be open June 7, 2015 @ 1:00pm through June 14, 2015 @ 12:59pm. Early registration fee is $75. On June 14, 2015 @ 1:00pm, the registration fee increases to $85. On November 1, 2015 at 1:00pm the registration fee increases to $95.

Packet Pick Up

All participants must pick up their race packet. There will be race morning packet pickup open until 6:15 a.m, however we encourage participants to pick up their packets in advance at Fit2Run. Please bring a photo ID to the pickup location in order to retrieve your race packet. You may pick up on behalf of other participants with a copy of the participant’s photo ID.

If you are picking up your race packets for the Myakka River Half Marathon, Run for the Memories at Fit2Run make sure you pick up your favorite running merchandise.

 Please arrive early to allow plenty of time for traffic, parking, gear check in and prompt arrival at the start.

All runners need to be at the Start/Finish Line at Myakka River State Park’s South Pavillon no later than 6:15 a.m. for the pre-race meeting.
