As with many of you, it’s time for the Nashville Striders to do some spring cleaning. Our storage unit is overflowing with unclaimed goodies from over 30 years of running events. Rather than throwing these things out or moving them to another storage unit (ugh!), we’ve decided to share these things with the Nashville running community and turn our spring cleaning into an in-person, safely conducted race. We have shirts, medals, mugs, hats, bottles and so much more. You’ll be guaranteed your shirt size, although it’s a mystery what shirt you may receive as even we don’t know! You are also guaranteed a random medal from one of our previous races, but again who knows what it will be. And even our awards will be unclaimed treasures from races past.

FAQs and commonly asked questions:
What are your COVID-19 safety protocols?
Masks are required for all runners and walkers before and after the event. Masks are required for all volunteers and staff during the event.Volunteers and staff will be required to have their temperatures taken before participating.Runners are encouraged not to gather until called to the start and to quickly disperse following the race. Please do not congregate in large groups. The event will be chip time only, not gun time. This allows runners to enter and exit the start area without the big squeeze normally associated with a gun start race. Start lines will be open from 7-7:10am for the 5k and 7:30-7:40am for the 10k to allow social distancing.
How does the 5k and 10k Challenge work?
The 5K will consist of one lap of a course that is completely in Moss- Wright Park. The 10K will be two laps of the same course. Trust us when we say that you won’t be encountering any big hills.
With staggered start times for the 5k and 10k, runners have the option to run both races for a total of 15k (9.3 miles.) if you register for the challenge, you’ll have two bibs and be listed in results for both the 5k and 10k. Please note, you must have completed the 5k and start the 10k by 7:40am. The start line for the 10K will close promptly at 7:40am.

We will have one water stop at the 1/2 way point (~1.5 miles.) 10k runners will hit the stop twice. There will be water only. We encourage you to carry your own fluids if you have an alternative hydration preference. Volunteers will be on hand to keep cups filled, but the stop will be self-serve to maintain appropriate distancing.
