As you are aware, there is mounting tension between police departments nationwide and the communities they serve.

In the spirit of unity, which can start with good sportsmanship, Crotona Park 5k is hosting the New York Unity Race, in an effort to establish a sense of cohesion between the NYPD and the community it serves. Members of the NYPD and the community will run a 5K race (approximately 3.1 miles) on a predefined and marked course located in Crotona Park. Additionally, Crotona Park 5K will distribute focus-group-tested literature, together with other giveaways to help to cultivate a healthy relationship between the NYPD and the community it serves.

Two events.  A 5k run and a 5k walk.  Runners will be assigned a bib and disposable chip for purposes of timing and awards.  Run starts on Crotona Ave. and renters the park for a scenic run.

The information about this race is based on information provided by the organizers or found on the official website of the event. Always check the official website for up-to-date information. If you have noticed any mistake, let us know at [email protected]
