Race with us to support the Steve Bolton Fund at UofL Health – UofL Hospital!
Three years ago, UofL Hospital had the unfortunate early death of a colleague in a hunting accident. He was a nurse who was loved by patients, staff and anyone who crossed his path. Since his death, the Steve Bolton Fund was established to raise money to further education for the nursing staff at UofL Hospital. Money raised has helped to fund travel to nursing conferences, nursing education and other unique opportunities to further the knowledge of bedside nurses in all areas of the hospital. This touches everyone, especially the patients as they benefit from improved care and outcomes due to increasing education of nurses that otherwise would not likely happen. The Steve Bolton Fund is run by a group of nurse practitioners who take applications from nurses requesting approval of funds for their specific requests. Last year, there were $60,000 in requests, but the hospital was only able to fund about $10,000 worth of those requests.
Join us Aug. 7 for an evening race to help fund the expansion of education and opportunities for the UofL Hospital nursing staff!
