NRF "Capes & Crowns" 5K Run

The Neches River Festival Presents "Capes & Crowns" 5K Run The race will be chip timed by Cajun Timing.   February 10, 2024   Kids 1 Mile Timed Run starts at 8:30 am  5K @ 9:00 am       Description: This year’s NRF Capes and Crowns 5K promises to be our most exciting yet as we have partnered with Mardi Gras of SETX for the second time.       Event Details: There will be a kids 1 Mile Fun Run starting at 8:30 am with the 5K race beginning at 9:00 am.  This is a flat course through downtown Beaumont and is suitable for experienced runners and kids alike.  There will be light refreshments before and after the race and water stations along the race route.  All participants will receive custom race medals. The overall male and female winners will receive an additional prize and the top three males and females in each age group will receive an additional winner’s medal.        Registration Fees (Early & Late Fees & dates):   Early Online Registration (until January 10, 2024) 1M  -   Kids ages 12 and under  $10 (No Race Shirt) 5K  -  18 and under $20.00 5K  -  19 and over $30.00 Late Online Registration (January 10th - February 10th) 5K  -  18 and under $25.00 5K  -  19 and over $35.00   Packet Pickup (Location, Date & Time):   Pre-Registered Participants   Exygon Health and Fitness Club located at 6450 Phelan Blvd., Beaumont, TX  77706 Thursday, February 8th - 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 9th - 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.   Age Groups: 1-14,15-19,20-29,30-39,etc. 70+   Awards: Top Overall Male & Female plus 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female in each age group   All registrations include:

• Custom race shirt (youth & adult sizing available - no shirt guarantee after February 1st)

• Post-race celebration with food, drink, & awards   Description of Organization The Neches River Festival, Inc., is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, to promote a sense of community identity and heritage as well as the education of local students through community events, and through regular contributions to the Otho-Plummer/Neches River Festival Scholarship at Lamar University. The proceeds from this race are used to fund college scholarships that directly impact the youth of our community.   Purpose   Neches River Festival provides a cultural, educational, and civic opportunity for participating students, and is open to anyone, regardless of ethnicity or financial background.  We are proud of our diverse group of student participants each year who represent each high school in Beaumont, Texas.
