About the Academy of World Languages School
The Academy of World Languages School is located in the Evanston, Walnut Hills, and East Walnut Hills neighborhoods in Cincinnati who lack regular access to medical, dental, and vision care. The poverty rate at the three public elementary schools in these neighborhoods exceeds 90%. About 1,000 children under the age of 5 have not yet been seen by a dentist. At the Academy of World Languages School, almost 25% of the children who require dental treatment cannot be seen. There is no public health clinic, dental clinic or health providers who accept Medicaid within many miles, which would require long bus rides for these children and families.
