What is a 1k - 5k color celebration?
The 5k color celebration focuses on you having FUN with your family and friends. It is a nontimed event — feel free to walk, run, and even stroll to the finish line. Whatever you do, just have FUN!
What makes this different from a normal 1k/5k?
All participants start the race in a clean white shirt. At stations throughout the race, you will get doused in different hues of pink and other colors. By the end of the race, you will be a literal rainbow of recognition of your racing prowess. Celebrate with your fellow runners in a color party at the finish line. Prepare yourself for awesomeness.
Who can take part?
Anyone. ANYone. Kids, students, teens, adults, even grandma and grandpa. Bring everyone you know and celebrate life. Your involvement brings awareness to cancer and what you can do to help others learn about their options.
A 5k sounds long. What if I don't want to go that far?
No problem! We've got a 1k, too! Don't worry about the distance, the point here is to enjoy your time with your friends and family and have FUN!
More about our charity—Cancer Support Community (CSC)
Cancer Support Community is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing emotional support, education and hope for people with cancer and their loved ones, free of charge. Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops and mind/body programs, utilizing the Patient Active Concept, people affected by cancer can learn vital skills to regain control, reduce feelings of isolation and restore hope—regardless of the stage of disease. The closest CSC is in Bozeman, but we are raising money to bring one to Kalispell which we anticipate opening in 2015. Every dollar raised in the Flathead Valley will stay in the Flathead Valley to help our friends and neighbors experiencing cancer know that their community is with them.
